The Trickle of a Fountain

I just love the sound that a fountain makes.....the trickle of water.....so soothing....so calm....so mesmerizing. On these sunny days I like to sit on the front porch and listen to the trickle of our front yard "bathtub" pond. This bathtub used to bloom with flowers, but I never really had much luck in keeping the flowers looking good all summer. Then I had an idea of turning the bathtub into a fountain - and voila - here it is!
I just found the statue at our local garden store last month. There is a little chip out of the bottom of her so they gave it to me with 50% off!
This bush next to the fountain is a random clematis plant that I just let take over this obelisk frame. Its blooms are white and lush.
Can't wait until they open up!
My hydrangeas are also blooming...
I just love the blue color of these blooms....
Awe...the blooms of summer - nothing like it!

Some Finds from Funky Junk Sisters Sale

While at the Funky Junk Sisters Sale a couple of weekends ago, I was able to find a few great things for our house. As you see in the photos below, I bought a new/old table for our kitchen. I just love it - of course it's red and white and it fits right in with all the other stuff in the kitchen!
It has a handy drawer on the front of it which I am going to paint - RED...
And, both of the sides extend out to make the table bigger....
I also found this cute bread box too...
I just love the baker man and the french maid decal - they are so cute!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game....

The Vancouver Canadians ball game that is....this was where we were at for Father's Day this past Sunday. Originally I had planned to surprise husband with going to see a Seattle Mariners game for Father's Day - but when I checked out the weather for the day, and checked out how much it would have cost us as a family of five to go, the local Vancouver Canadians game won out. It cost us only $63 dollars total to see this game as it would have cost around $250 dollars to go see the Mariners. Plus, the weather for Seattle for the day wasn't lookin' too good so it made sense to stay close to home. The weather for Vancouver turned out to be perfect and the rain held out...Batter up!
Their mascot...
The three siblings...
The children and their father...
Look! They have cotton candy!
After the game was over (by the way they won against the Everett, Washington team) we headed up the hill to Queen Elizabeth Park where you can see the whole skyline of Vancouver. Just look at some of the gardens there...
And again...
Posin' with the bronze camera man...
Whatcha lookin' at??
Friends of the family...
Smile...
Awwee....
Having fun with the fountain...
A great day!

Happy Father's Day

This is to wish my dear daddy and wonderful husband a very Happy Father's Day!! You both are very special in my life - dad, for the way you've always been there and shaped my path for me - and Tim for the way you have been the great father you are to our children. Hope both of your days are special!!

A New Place For The Pups

While out at the antique mall in Langley last week I spied this beauty - all leather and in great condition - add a cushion and you have a new stylish doggie bed...
And, miss lola loves it....
And, miss minnie loves it....
They both love it but not the "together" kind of love - maybe they can share the space soon!

The "Becca" Collage

This is the collage I made for my daughter....something to take with her when she goes away to university....so she doesn't forget us and the memories! Many of the things I put on her collage have something to do with her - like all the candy and cupcakes surrounding the frame (because she is the Candy Girl) - the umbrellas because she always saved them from her "virgin" drinks that she had - the ballerina because she used to be our little ballerina when she took classes when she was a wee one - and lots of bling because she likes it!
Another view....
A little glammed up when she tried on her prom dress for us - I added the bling around the photo and the glittery crown on her head....
This picture of her when she was about 2 years old and I had left her in the kitchen playing and when I returned she had baking flour all over the floor and herself! Her nickname was "tunafish"....
Of her and her daddy when they won the Fraser Valley Championships....
Of her and her sister....
And a close-up of the ballerina I added because when she was little she took ballet classes...
Our little girl all grown up!

The Barbeque

This day was to celebrate my daughter's high school graduation with a barbeque for family and friends. The food was great (too much of it) and the company was good too! Here is the grad with her cake....
Playing some badminton with friends....
Grandma with Minnie the puppy....
Some deep discussions going on....
Awww....
Some more discussions....
Would you believe I forgot to take pictures of the spread of food?? I can't - just believe me when I say it was A LOT OF FOOD!! We had many leftovers even after I sent some home with others.

Puyallup Here We Come!

My youngest daughter and I are going to take a road trip this Saturday to Puyallup, WA. Why you ask?? Well, since I missed the Farm Chicks sale due to daughter's graduation (couldn't miss that!), I have found another sale to go to. It is the Funky Junk Sisters Show and boy am I excited to find some treasures there. We are staying the night so hopefully we won't have to pay too much duty tax when we go home across the border.

I think a stop at the Seattle Premium Outlets could be in the works too! :)

Maybe we'll see some of you there!
