Yachats, Oregon

A little R&R was in store after the preparing of the wedding, so my parents treated me to an overnight stay on the coast of Oregon in the town of Yachats. We stayed at The Adobe Inn where they allow our little pooches to stay with us. This place was amazing and the food at the restaurant was to die for! The seafood fettuccine I had was so delicious and full of scallops, shrimp and dungeoness crab. Yum!

We had just about cancelled our plans to go to the coast as the weatherman called for stormy weather....luckily our first day there was clear and we headed to the beach for a little walk....
No rain - yeah!
Looming skies...
My daddy and me and Lola...
I don't like the sand between my toes!
Posing...
My mom and dad and their pooch Miguelito...
Miss Lola and I...
Searching for sea life...
Sea moss...
Some weathered logs...
I like the colors of these rocks...
The aged look that the salty sea gives things...
Some plant life...
And then later on at the restaurant...Cheers!
My mom's whipping cream with Kahlua...
Martini on the rocks with olives for my dad...
And my old standby...a Cosmo...yum!
It was a great little visit and the next day the storm came - wild wind and sideways rain. Luckily we took our walk on the beach the previous day! We went to a few antique stores and then headed over to the outlets in Lincoln City. Then it was time to head back to home and leave the sea for another day...

A Harvest Wedding

Well, my sister is married off and the day turned out wonderful. No dark clouds in the sky, no rain in the forecast - just sunshine and fall-like weather. The harvest theme of the wedding suited the barn she was married in and the sun filtering through the windows cast a warm glow to the room. The food was great and the atmosphere relaxing.

The days leading up to the "DAY" were spent running around gathering up the supplies and last minute details that were needed to make the day special. We had tulle coming out of our yin yang and flowers by the thousands. It was hard to imagine just how the barn would transpire with all these "things" but in the end it looked like a professional did it. I guess I could call myself a florist, wedding decorator and a wedding planner! And a cleaner upper!

Here is my dad the day before the wedding loading up the U-Haul he had to rent to haul all of the stuff we had for the wedding.
Hanging the lights and the tulle in the barn...
Loading up the many pumpkins my dad grew for the wedding to decorate the inside and outside of the barn property...

My helpers I put to work on tying all of the bows and sunflowers to the backs of the chairs and also putting together 100+ napkins with raffia and fall leaves...
