Time Machine - 1980

As I was cleaning out the computer room and putting things into save and toss piles, I came across some old photo albums with very old photos. Photos of me in my teen years...about the same age as my youngest daughter now - wow, what memories they recalled. Memories and the plain clear fact that there is no fountain of youth to get that "oh so young" look back! I wonder if I would've done things differently back then if I knew I had a chance to? Would I have been a dental assistant? a word processor in a bank? a mom? a wife? would I have moved to another country?

I remember having several friends in my 20's who traveled a lot. I always envied them that they were able to afford to go off to some far off place and experience things that I couldn't. Every penny I earned had to pay for my car payment, rent, food, etc. There was nothing left over at the end of the month. Boo hoo....

But, had I not gone through the things I did back then, it wouldn't have prepared me for the "real" world...the one where money doesn't grow on trees...the one where things aren't just "handed" to you...the one where you have to work for the things you want. So, as I reminisce about being 18 again, I can say without a doubt that I would not change a single thing about my life. Every thing that happens, happens for a reason. As the chain of events unfold in each of our lives, it prepares the path for our futures. God has already planned our futures for us...he already knows what's going to happen in our lives before we do...so, there is no fighting our future and aging...it happens to us all.

O...M...G!!!

I recently participated in the "I Thought of You" swap that Stephenie from "just a little bit pink" hosted. My partner was Sandy from "Sew Revived" and boy did she spoil me. She knew the way to my heart was with the color RED!! She found a lot of things in my favorite color.

Just look at all the lovelies...
All in red...
So many things to create with...
Love the linens, buttons, and jewelry...
Feather fun...
And guess what this box holds...
Any guesses yet?
It is an antique song roll for a player piano...
My Isle of Golden Dreams...
I just love the detail here...
And here...
Some paper goods...
and more...
and still more...
yet again...
Some crystals, old cabinet card photo, bottle caps, and a photo album...
I feel really special to have received all of these goodies from Sandy and I look forward to using them in some of my creations in the future...
Thanks a bunch Sandy!!

Love...This...Lake

A week away...here...pure bliss even though there was a campfire ban going on. Being away from home, away from a phone, the hustle and bustle of life - priceless. To be at this remote lake destination to totally forget any responsibilities of home life or reality - words can't describe. JUST...TO...BE...that's all we had to do...
Luckily for us the week before was the wet, rainy one and the week we were there was sunshine and heat! Yippee!
All the relaxin' we could take - the Mr. and his pup Minnie...
Lucy-poo...
And the princess Lola...
Awweee...
Spendin' time with the girl that's movin' away to college in a week...
Love that scenery!
Soakin' up the last rays of summer...
Cards anyone?
Lucy has claimed her "own" chair...
My daughters get a hold of a camera and go on a "shooting" spree...
In the dark...
On the bridge...
Smoochin'...
Lovin'...
Posin'...
A girl and her pooch...
A hot Lucy...
Kissy, kissy...
This butterfly my daughter is holding followed us around all day long - even when we were floating on the raft in the afternoon it landed on the mattress!
Trying to cool off in the makeshift shade!
There they are with the camera again - camera shy they are not!
Will someone take that camera away from them??
Silhouette...
Yoga pose...
Big sis...
Minnie...
Little sis...
And Lola...
It was a wonderful week filled with suntanning, reading, crafting and EATING!! Just wish that campfire banned would have been lifted so we could've made some s'mores. I guess we'll just have to wait until next summer for those!
