Chock Full of Sunshine

today was one of these type of days

a day so chock full of sunshine that I just had to 

be domestic and hang some linens on the line

I can already smell that fresh scent a day in the sunshine makes

and remember this project??

well it is now complete

and it is a cozy place to spend a sunny afternoon

or an evening

the chandy is all ready to use come sunset

and the warm glow it gives off is divine

and this fabric bunting cheers up the space

as well as this comfy glider

(a chair that has survived 10+ years)

can't you just taste the s'mores cooking on the fire?

this little cutie needed a facelift after spending 10+ years in the sunshine

a fresh coat of paint and some polka dots always does the trick

maybe tomorrow will be another one of these sunshine days

a day to spend outside doing projects that have been waiting for months to finish

maybe the hammock that has been in the basement for 2 years

will finally get the new cover it's needed sewn and put together tomorrow

it's incentive to be able to lounge on it after it's finished!

Someone's Turning 70

Queen for a Day...or Two...or Three

Just recently I participated in another swap - this one was hosted by Molly of Fleur de Bee and it was a Crown Swap. Having never made a crown before, I did some research and decided I would like to make a chicken wire crown as I had seen in many books and online.

I started with the chicken wire for the frame and let my imagination go with what I thought my partner would like. It has a very vintagey feel to it and I love the old chandelier crystals I added to the tiers of the crown. My partner was Kristen of Sweet Dreams Art Studio and from perusing her blog, I noticed that she decorated with these same colors. I hope she likes it!

I used some vintage millinery flowers that I had on hand as well as some velvet leaves...

And look at this old perfect hatbox I found at one of our local stores to send the crown in...

It's on it's way to Kristen...

I also made her a fun soldered necklace with a cute girl with a crown on...

She also made me this great masquerade mask...

I loved this swap as it challenged me to make something that I had never attempted before. I can't wait to see all of the rest of the swappers and their crowns!

On the seventh week it was necessary to purchase one of these

Now they are living the Canadian and American dream...a home of their own!

Home came fully equipped with a bedroom set 

and all the essentials that a puppy could need...
