Another Swap...
I am participating in Wendy's "Around the World in 20 Tags"
swap and just sent mine off to her. I chose Italy...
I made mine a bit unconventional
the front of it had some Italian sheet music titled "La Danza D'Amore"
which in English means "The Dance of Love"
A close-up of the detail on the bottom of the tag
I added some black lace, little flowers made out of sheet music,
and some feathers for "fluff"
The addition of a vintage woman dancing added a bit of whimsy to the tag
On the back I added a vintage Italy map and stamped "Italy" over the "boot"
I can't wait to get all 20 countries back and see the talents of the other swappers involved!

It's hard keeping them in one place because they are so inquisitive now and moving constantly...
They are making lots of noises now too...
and ALWAYS searching for their mama...
Mama.....where are you?? This crazy lady keeps plopping me back into this hat...

Summers Comin'?
Summers comin'...or so they say
You wouldn't know it if you followed my local weather
The only type of summer weather we've had lately has been the WET kind
So, as I look out my kitchen window and see the production of this area...
I only wonder whether we will be able to enjoy it this summer
I guess we can take our own sweet time in finishing it because the sky has just opened
up once again with the "showers of spring"....or should I say "showers of summer"...

Snoozin'
Two weeks old and it seems all these munchkins do is eat - sleep - eat - sleep...
some of their eyes have opened and I can tell in a few more weeks we are going to have
to be keeping a really close eye on these guys once they become mobile...
but for now, we can just sit back and watch them do this...

All She Wanted...
A stands for "anna"....
a girl who spent most of her life in california and the latter part of her life in the northwest -
no umbrella needed for her...
she chooses to spend her time in the sun sans sunscreen and umbrella...
this is to make sure she gets her brown skin to last the rest of the months back home in the northwest...

and...she did find herself a loving family...
Happy Belated Mother's Day Mom!

"Play" Time...
Today was all about ME...in the craft room anyway! It was MY "play time"
and I got to make something for myself that made me smile. I got out a dollar store box,
some old "R" dictionary pages, the glass from a dollar store 4x6 photo frame, some vintage papers, vintage buttons, and some other goodies that just speak "me" when you look at them. I wanted to put all these things together in a collage box and solder it all up and keep them safe. It all started with this cute little vintage doll who had lost her limbs, so I got out my trusted E6000 and put her "back" together. Then I let my creative juices go and created this little gem...just for me...
and of course it had to have my little sweetheart companion in it...the little queen mama lola...
and the colors red and aqua made an appearance...and her cute little purse says it all "I love to shop"!!
and it was all about "play" today...adding touches of a cute red bingo card and flash cards that say "to" and "me"...and an old letter "r" typewriter key became her dress adornment...
an old glass doorknob became the pedestal...
and these cute red vintage buttons became the frame around the box...
and it was all about the letter "R"...
because that's my name and don't wear it out!
and all the while this little mama was beside me with her little pups...
this little one cracks me up with it's tongue hanging out and it's satisfied belly!
Hope you are able to create something special soon that speaks "YOU"!!

The Puppies Are Here!
***WARNING***
IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE IN SEEING SOME SURGICAL PHOTOS
OF A LIVE PUPPY BIRTH, AVERT YOUR EYES NOW AND SCROLL DOWN
TO SEE THE "CUTE" PUPPIES AT THE END OF THE POST
Well, Lola finally had her babies with the aid of modern physician care - that is the vet kind! So glad that I called her today as she is going to Maryland tomorrow for a convention and won't be back until next Tuesday...thankfully they were able to do the c-section this evening and everything went well - the doctor delivered 5 puppies, but unfortunately one did not make it. We tried for a long time to get it "going" but his heart was too weak and we had to say our goodbyes.
The doctor was kind enough to let me in the operating room so I got to see first hand how
everything was done. I even had to wear a surgical mask and a hair net!
Here is the second puppy being delivered - poor Lola...
And here are the four siblings - 2 girls and 2 boys...
I had to feed them their first meal by syringe because Lola is quite "out of it"
at the moment and wasn't impressed when they were climbing all over her trying to nurse.
I have them right in front of the gas fireplace so they stay nice and warm - they also have a hot
water bottle underneath the blanket so they are nice and cozy!
And here is Lola in her own bed re-cooperating from the drugs...

Don't Hate Me
What I am about to show you may make you envious of me...because believe me
if I was looking at this stuff on someone else's blog I would be envious too. I shared with you a
while back on the two swaps I was in and what my gifts to my partners were - now I am going to share with you what I received from them. You may want to go and grab a tissue to wipe up the drool that is about to start trailing down from your mouth...see what I mean?
Lisa of Lisa Michelle Design is the sweetie who spoiled me with all this goodness.
A vintage postcard, some butterflies, hymnal music and trims...
Some tags she made and more trimmings for me to use on future projects...
Are you drooling yet??
Need more tissue??
I love these frosted grapes...
And Lisa was so thoughtful she came up with this from using a picture
of my grandma that I posted on my blog and made this...
gorgeous pillow just for me...nonna is the Italian word for grandma.
I love this pillow and it is residing in a special place in my living room.
And here is the tussie mussie cone she gave me - isn't it beautiful? I love it! Thank you so much Lisa!
Why don't you go and grab the whole box of tissue before we resume with the next swap.
Ready?? Here we go - look at all this stuff! This was all from Wanda from The Rat's Pajamas -
she was very generous to me!
All stuffed inside this cute black wire basket were so many crafting supplies. All with a theme of turquoise and red. And how convenient that my craft room is the color turquoise! Look at all this loot!
Some vintage cabinet cards and some ephemera...
Some cute turquoise polka dot yo-yo's and the most fabulous red damask packing tape!
Oh and look at the cute cupcake magnet and journal and notepad!
Good ol' Martha's glitter!
Some more fab old photos and a vintage sewing pattern, vintage buttons and beads...
Love the colors...
Some cute laces and trims...
I love the little doggie on this card...
Some compact cupcake lip glosses...
And I can't wait to pack up one of my orders from my etsy with this fabulous packing tape -
have you ever seen anything like this? I haven't and I'm thrilled at this new product!
Thank you so much Wanda for all my goodies and for spoiling me - I can't wait to craft with them!
So, let me ask you - do you have any tissue left?
