Whew! The festivities of the graduate are over and the only evidence of a week-long whirlwind of events would be the messy house that was left in the aftermath of it all! I haven't even made a dent in the cleaning of it yet! The commencement ceremonies are over and the graduation BBQ is finished. Lots of leftovers to eat from the BBQ so I won't have to be doing any cookin' this week in the heat!
The BBQ was a success and there was plenty of food and desserts to go around AND a candy bar filled with a variety of sweet morsels. There is a story behind why I had a candy bar at my daughters party. For years now she has been known as the "candy girl" because of always having a purse full of the stuff. When she used to watch her older sister play basketball she would always have her "stash" tucked inside her purse to munch on while watching one, two, or sometimes a whole weekend of games. Candy got her through many times of sitting on hard wooden bleachers and others would gather around her and ask what goodies she had in her purse to share this time. So, it was only appropriate to celebrate this part of her personality too! And, to this day she will still have some sweet candy to sneak out of her purse and pop in her mouth! She will always be known as THE CANDY GIRL to us!
